FEEDBACK from week of Intercession for the city with the Ugandans

We went to pray and worship and hold meetings in 4 areas of the city – St Pauls, Henbury, Bedminster and the Broadmead area. We also arranged a Spiritual Mapping workshop. People were encouraged to persevere in travailing prayer and to eradicate sin and idolatry from their lives some of which is part of our culture.

One of the main words given by the Ugandans to the body of Christ in Bristol was:

Rev: 2 ‘Return to your first love’ – I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent I will come to you and remove your lampstand’. Being SET APART & Holy so we can stand against the world – having the Nazarite Spirit, like Samuel and the Apostle Paul is what we should seek after.

Our visits to Bedminster and Henbury after we asked God to give us the keys to blessing the areas revealed that work in the Heavenly realms needs to be accomplished for complete breakthrough….Continue to pray for the breakthrough to come and for God to bless the churches who hosted us especially Ivy Pentecostal, where we based each morning of the week – pray for their protection and against the darkness & oppression which would seek to quench the light which they are the in St Pauls, Ashley Hill area.

FEEDBACK from 24-7 week of Prayer at Jesus Kingdom City next to bus station

The general set up was one room which was 24-7 creative style attractive to youth and students. The other room or church hall was set up like a Watchtower with boards of information about specific things to pray for in the city eg. City Council, Needs of areas in the city, Police, Schools, Mentally Ill, Health service, Redigging Wells of revival, Students…….

Several women who came into pray were feeling as if they were experiencing birth pangs and were going through labour. The following is a vision given to Roz who faithfully stayed in the 24-7 Prayer rooms over night, which I believe is a birthing of God’s purposes in the city one, whether the Prayer house, revival or the

Financing of Prayer Wall and associated Prayer projects – we constantly incur expenses for organising prayer events, promotional material……: Any donations are appreciated – Send to: Treasurer of Bristol Prayer Wall – Paul Thompson, 48 Arnall Drive, Henbury Bristol BS10 7AP

great end-time harvest: Magnify God – picture of a woman beginning to give birth. God is wanting to birth in our city and our nation new life ( revival). The power of this life will cover and raise up all that is dead. The labour may be long but we need to push on until the new arrival. The birth must happen, it has to come, but we must be a part of the labour and with labour comes labour pains but with the birth comes immense joy. God is saying ‘Return to me’. Without intimacy he has no vessel to bring His birth into being. It is an immense honour that we are God’s bride – we need to ask God’s forgiveness where we have turned away and praise Him for His faithfulness that if we remain in Him, He will remain in us.Ben Daniels gave the scripture Luke 2 alongside this which includes the Magnificat: Luke 2:39 – 55.This fits in with words being given to Intercessors and Prophets at this time about the need to develop the Esther anointing and the Intimacy she had with the King, some of which came through FASTING as well as prayer.

DEVOTIONAL

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9
You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light’

We've been picked to be on God's team, and we were picked first! We have an important role to play in the unfolding of the world's history. As a brick on the Prayer Wall you can be part of God’s plan to transform the city. Learn to love being in His Presence more than anything else so that you can declare God's praises to those who don't know him and they can find his marvelous light and leave their world of darkness.

ANSWERED PRAYERS

"Thank you to all who have been praying for the Bristol Youth Bus Project". The uncertainty over security has been resolved. Both buses can remain at Cadbury's in Keynsham which offers a secure place.

24-7 week of prayer for the city – there was an incredible sense of God’s presence and God appeared to send people at specific times who represented parts of the Prayer House vision who we could bless in prayer. For example some Christian artists turned up one night and shared their burdens about persecution by the secular world through universities etc. and we were able to pray that God’s revival purposes for Christian artists would be fulfilled. On the night of worship, which brought anointed unity on Halloween some Christian dancers turned up. A group of people who were led to sleep at the venue have now formed a team to establish the House of Prayer/Worship. The finances for the week were also met.

PROTECTION OF CITY AGAINST ATTACKS BY AL QUAEDA

As God’s people we can call on His authority to protect the gates of the city and the people who live here. Pray we will be saved about any attacks of chemical warfare or other attacks instigated by Al Quaeda.

PRAY FOR PROTECTION OF 125 CLIENTS & WORKERS

PRAY FOR ASHFIELD PRISON CHAPLAINCY TEAM & PRODIGAL SON MINISTRIES

Alistair and Michael (Christians being released in the next few days) that they will continue in their faith on the outside and get linked in to a church. For the team that they will continue to do the business and have Jesus at the centre of their work. For the spiritual atmosphere in the prison , that Gods kingdom would come and his Spirit would be at work. Give thanks for hundreds of Christian Committments, for the birth of Prodigal Son Ministries, for the many volunteers who help, for those who are now integrated into church life on the out. Pray for the new female governor who has recently been appointed and her relationship with the Chaplaincy team.

PRAYING & BREACHING OUT TO THE LOST ON THE STREETS OF BRISTOL

Many homeless and addicts were drawn to the 24 hour prayer rooms, who got prayed for. Testimony of Muriel Bolton: ‘I was down at the prayer room this afternoon (Thurs) and was very much aware of the 'lostness' of Bristol folk and particularly those on the streets. I prayed about what I could do as it seemed so big a problem. …. I went into Broadmead and talked to a young fellow sitting in the underpass. He said he was living rough and trying to get the money together for a bus ticket to Bradford (home) I gave him some money (he seemed really genuine) and he said God bless you! …. and kept saying thank you. It gave me the chance to tell him God wanted to bless him and I asked if I could pray with him. He put his arms wide out to the sides and said yes. ... As I left he asked me to go back to the church and 'ask those people please to pray for me and Sam'. (friend) I put his name on the net - Darren and Sam. Darren is an ex heroine addict. ‘Pray for God to bring the ministries into the city like Betel who have the anointing to minister to the complete needs of the Homeless in Bristol eg. Get them off the streets into good shelter; saved; parented and turned into radical disciples…….

PRAYER NEEDS FOR BRADLEY STOKE

Bradley Stoke, are excited by the prospect of two months continuous prayer for their town. It's a young population 80 percent of whom are aged under 40. There are 6 primary schools but no secondary school; instead the older children have to go to Patchway or Winterbourne. There are no council houses.

Five churches serve the town trying to build bridges with their neighbours, All the ministers are new this millenium. Their is a real sense of unity, boasted by regular fellowship meetings attended by the leaders of all the churches. In December they will be producing a joint Christmas leaflet telling people about Christmas services. There is still a demand for the traditional, such as Carols by Candlelight.

The churches have difficulty connecting with a restless population with very little spare time to spend in their own community. Yet they are still able to connect with those left at home through activities such as Toddler's groups and After School clubs. There is plenty of co-operation between the schools and the churches, to the extent that a rota has been devised whereby each church takes it in turns to go into assemblies in all the schools. QUOTES : "People appear happy, even contented, so it's hard to gauge how much suffering goes on behind closed front doors. A large percentage of the population commute to work so a daytime sense of community is lacking. The standard of living is sufficiently high that those who suffer with damaged lives can dull the pain using the luxuries and diversions that society offers, or maybe just work harder." "There is general lack of community facilities and hence the lack of community spirit but most of the people are friendly if you take the initiative to smile and say hello." "Bradley Stoke is the biggest private housing estate in Europe and we believe that when we get it right through Jesus, Bradley Stoke will become a blue print for communities around this nation and Europe. Community leaders play a vital part in that. Pray that they come to know Jesus."

PRAISE : A programme of regular School assemblies;For a variety of well supported children's activities;

For the united witness of all the churches

PRAY FOR: A secondary school soon, so that young people can stay in their community. Funding will be a problem.- The Origin ministry - a youth venture, seeking to reach out to the youth in the area. -The town has no real centre. There is a need for a heart for the community. - Community leadership. - The business fringe - for means of contact. - More sympathy for the real needs of a restless community with little item for God. - Continuing Unity between the churches

CHRISTMAS: - For a good response to the United Christmas invitations.

"We are praying that in November and the run up to Christmas that the Lord would use the churches in the area powerfully to sow seeds of true meaning of Christmas."

CHURCHES & MINISTERS : Christ the King -(Tom Webber); Key to Life (John McManus); Holy Trinity Paul Peterson); Bradley Stoke Evangelical (Alastair Hornel);Revival Ministries (Dia Moodley); Origin Ministries (Youth outreach)New Frontiers have recently started a North Bristol church at the Sports Centre.

To impact a population like this with the Gospel won't be easy, people need to see there's something better than what they already have. In the case of a dysfunctional, broken, needy people group, the choice is easier and more obvious, but with people living in an atmosphere of "nice", even bland sufficiency, it's much less so. An adequate Health Service attempts to meet physical and mental healing needs, so that the churches are scarcely seen to be relevant in this area. - Paul Gaskins / Geoff Haskett

PRAYING FOR THE CHINESE COMMUNITY

There are about 8,000 Chinese in the Bristol areas. The majority are from Hong Kong and are involved in the take-away and restaurant business. There are more and more mainland Chinese coming over to complete their further education. Gambling is a big problem for the Chinese people. Because of their unsocial working hours and lack of alternative social amenities, many ended up in the casino after their work has finished at around 12am. They would stay there until 4 or 5 am. Then they returned home for a short nap and start the day's work at 10am. Many have incurred a huge debt and some have to sell their business in order to pay off their debts. These are owed to the loan sharks who prey around the casinos and they charge very high interest. This social ill is placing a lot of pressure on family life and divorce is on the increase.

Please join the Bristol Chinese Christian Church (BCCC) in praying for those folks trapped in this bondage. Praise the Lord indeed for those who have been set free by the Holy Spirit and now are serving faithfully in the church. We have around 80-100 regular attendants. We meet Sundays 2.30pm to 4.00 pm at Tyndale Baptist Church off Whiteladies Road. Messages are preached in Cantonese and translated into mandarin. Please do pray for your local take-away families and encourage them to visit our church. For more information please contact: Jason Yapp @ 01454-616184.

CHRISTMAS IN BRISTOL

Pray that Christmas will be a time of blessing for all those who live in the city. Pray that the lost will find faith and a revelation of God’s love for them. Pray that the lonely and orphans will find fellowship, friendship and family. Pray that those who normally turn to drinking will be turned to more constructive activities. Pray that the message of Jesus Christ will be lifted higher than commercialism and shopping….Pray for all Christmas outreach events and services in the city to be anointed by God. Pray for ‘Caring at Christmas’ to be well staffed……

ALTARS OF 24-7 PRAYER & WORSHIP IN BRISTOL – see Gen. 13:17 where Abraham set up an Altar and Gen. 22:6-14 –

God promised to give Abraham the length & breadth of the land after he built an altar and sacrificed all that he had. Abraham placed all he had on the altar and not only prayed but gave, and sowed. He was willing to give anything to the Lord to see that the Lord fulfils His word. Rev. 12:11 tells us ‘ They overcame by the blood of the lamb and the Word of their testimony and loved not their lives as to shrink from death….’

Whilst in Uganda at the World Prayer conference, the Lord gave Naomi a vision of setting up four altars of 24 hour worship & prayer in different parts of Bristol possibly in North, South, East & West which she felt would break the oppression hanging over the city so that the Lord could move in miraculous & mighty ways. Pray about how this vision might link in with the vision for a citywide House of 24 hour Prayer & Worship and for the Lord’s guidance. It is possible that praying churches in the different parts of the city could become these Altars. The Ugandans s that as a Prayer/worship altar is established Open Heaven begins to come over that area and the spiritual blindness is removed from the minds of the unbelievers – 2 Cor. 4… Its time the Body of Christ started to pull down the idols of this day and became the influence in the city rather than vice versa.
